Hello all! I hope to finish up the last of our fun stay in Texas shortly!
On Wednesday we had a relaxing morning. If you’ve never had east Texas kolaches, you are missing out! I never knew what I was missing all these years! 😂
We kids played games with Mrs. Morrill in the morning. And yes, of course, we taught her Ticket to Ride!
This is a wild game! (Note Karen’s playing hand!😂)
For church that evening, we went to a church that supports some missionary friends of ours. The Pastor said that both their piano player and their back-up piano player were not there. So I was asked to play for the service that night. We sang a few specials for the people there, as well. It was a blessing to go to a church that we had never been to, and knew no one there, but be able to be a blessing to our fellow Christians in Christ!
On Thursday we said goodbye to the Morrills. They were so hospitable and fed us so well while we were there!
Cleared for take-off…(clearing for take-off?)…and cross-checking!

Once again we were on the road. Outside Longview, we stopped at this sign for some pictures. Yes, it was Texas, but it was soo cold out there in the wind! 😰
Now we were heading back to Bowie. But first we stopped at the Big Sandy campus that is now A.L.E.R.T. Mom went to college there when it was still Ambassador College.
Daniel and Kathryn Staddon had us for lunch. It was so nice catching up with them again.😁
Then we piled into their mini van to take a tour of the Alert campus. It had changed so much since Mom went to college! Thank you, Daniel, for taking the time to show us around!
Shhhhh! Jason fell asleep!🤗😴
Shhhh! Reese fell asleep!👇😉
It was late afternoon when we got on the road back to Bowie. And even later when we arrived at Braums–another Texas stop sign, in my opinion! They are very famous for their ice cream and shakes, and will even let you swap a drink for a milk shake with your meal!😳😋
Mom enjoyed her food!
We got to Bowie late and crashed to bed.
We weren’t in Bowie for long. The next morning we packed up again, and hit the road around 11 A.M. We drove to Oklahoma City to visit the Oliverio family!!!😁
We got there around 1, just in time for a late lunch. The O’s are such a jolly bunch, and we had a blast!😄
In the afternoon we went over and saw the In the Gap buildings (school, chapel, dorms, etc.) and the house they are remodeling right down the street!
We girls made cookies that afternoon.
After supper it was volleyball in the gym!😄
We slept well after that! We were the first people to stay in the Oliverios’ new house that night.
Friday was some sight seeing…we’ll see those sights in the next post!
